Now That You're Gone

This song expressed how I felt during times when I was separated from an ex-fiance. It was because of this song that I met Kathleen Noble. Kathleen came to my apartment to sing "Now That You're Gone" a few weeks before I went to live in West Germany. I could not use the recording we made, but we began a friendship that is still very dear to me. After I returned from Germany in 1983, Kathleen and I spent a lot of time together. By the spring of 1986 we were pretty busy with our separate lives, so we saw much less of each other. I saw her last on the day I was married in June of 1987. In early 1989, I learned from her parents that Kathleen had been murdered. It took a long time before I could even listen to this song. "Now That You're Gone" will be known from this time on as Kathleen's Song. I miss her.
