Music for Cassie
Cassie Leber was a beautiful soul. She was badly injured after a skydiving accident at the age of 19 that left her trapped in a paralyzed body for a remaining 16 years. She died on January 1, 2008. Her father, Eric Leber, is a good friend who happens to be a very fine poet. We collaborated on this piece for Alto Voice, Narrator, Flute, Violin, Viola, and Piano in 2008. Five songs alternate between voice and narrator to present Eric's exquisite poems. "Music for Cassie" is dedicated, with love, to Cassie Leber.
